Hi All / Steve,
I can't find the answer in the help or wiki so have resorted to asking here.
If I set realtime.txt to update every say 5 mins and my WS logs every 1 minute, does the realtime.txt contain an average of those 1 minute readings?
Also if for say a Davis that reads every 2.5 secs or 1 minute depending on parameter, is the realtime.txt averaged for those readings even if both logger and realtime.txt intervals are 5 minutes?
Ta
Phil

Realtime.txt is .......... realtime
ie. a snaphot of the last readings from the base station.

Re: Does realtime.txt average during updates
All Cumulus data written anywhere is a snapshot of current data. The only data which is averaged are those values which are averages (e.g. 10-minute wind speed).
There is scope for a whole new set of data items for the logs; average over the logging period, and peak value since the last log entry, and perhaps I will add those one day, but it's a large undertaking.

Re: Does realtime.txt average during updates
Thanks Guys.
That's what I needed to know.
Reason is I want to create a log once every 5 mins from realtime.txt but I want the data to be "representative" of what happened in that 5 mins - so that means averaging.
I can easily do that in the C# app I am writing, just wanted to make sure it wasn't already being done by Cumulus.
Cheers
