index.html
Hi all new user here.
Purchased a fine offset weather station yesterday, everything works perfectly.
Just need some help with setting up a webpage.
I use godaddy and I have purchased both webhosting and a domain. My website is up and running however I cant see anything related to cumulus. I have followed the wiki and uploaded the files to my website.
What do I need to put into the index.html file on my website?
Thanks
Liam

Re: index.html
Cumulus uploads the index.htm file, you need to supply the correct settings, and it does it automatically. Have you put your ftp details into the internet settings screen?

Re: index.html
Hi steve
yes the ftp settings are in the internet screen.
Shall I delete the current index page on my website then?

Re: index.html
You will probably need to at some point, so there is no confusion over what your index page is, but it won't solve your problem as there are no Cumulus pages being uploaded (not to the correct place, at least). The usual reason for pages not appearing is that you have the 'ftp directory' configured incorrectly, as all of the other information required (host, user, password etc) is straightforward.liamcarbin wrote:Shall I delete the current index page on my website then?

Re: index.html
Really dont know then. The files are in the correct directory (Root)
What about in cumulus in the internet settings box.
I have both include standard files & Standard images. But the boxes below them are empty do they need filling in?

Re: index.html
Do you mean that you can see the Cumulus index.htm, today.htm etc pages on the ftp server? They don't show up on the web server, so presumably they're not in the correct place. What have you put for 'ftp directory' in Cumulus? A screen shot of your internet settings screen would be useful.liamcarbin wrote:Really dont know then. The files are in the correct directory (Root)
If you turn on ftp logging, the ftplog.txt file may give some clues. It will also create a file called ftpls.txt which may also be useful (it's a directory listing at the point where Cumulus logs in to the ftp server).

Re: index.html
It's usually best to supply a relative path to the ftp directory (i.e. one without a leading slash) as ftp servers can do unexpected things with absolute paths. If your 'weather' directory is at the root level at the point where you log in, then all you need for the ftp directory is 'weather'.

Re: index.html
The ftp progress window isn't much help with diagnosing ftp issues. You need to turn on ftp logging.

Re: index.html
I see you have set active ftp mode. I was looking at the Godaddy web site for information on their server setup earlier, and I noticed they say they only support passive ftp mode.

Welcome to Abbey Hulton .
The weather station in use is the Fine Offset, and these pages are updated every 5 minutes. The meteorological day used at this station ends at midnight.
