wxnow.txt ?

I've been running Cumulus 1.9.2 since October.
Recently I noticed that the wxnow.txt file is no longer being updated.
I checked the file and the last time it was updated was in December.
I checked the data directory and monthly & daily files seem to be current.
I uninstalled Cumulus and installed the current build and still no wxnow.txt.
I saw some previous discussion but did not see a solution.
Wxnow.txt is used by Ui-view to pick up the current weather to send out over the air on APRS.
Is there a fix for the missing wxnow.txt file or a replacement?
Thanks - Dave.

You're using build 1030, yes? I get a wxnow.txt file created every minute, and I know that it's working for others as there was a problem in the formatting which I had to fix a while ago.

The only way I can see that you wouldn't get one created would be if either you had turned it off for some reason by adding a line 'CreateWxnowTxt=0' to the [Station] section of cumulus.ini, or, assuming you haven't actually done that, some sort of error is occurring when Cumulus tries to create it. If you turn on the debug log, an error message would be logged to the debug.log file if that were the case. Unfortunately the error message isn't very informative.

I just removed Cumulus and deleted the entire directory and all the files.
I rebooted the PC.
I reinstalled Cumulus 1.9.2, 1030 and started the progem.
It connects to my WMR100 and displays the weather.
It does not create a wxnow.txt file.
I created the file manually, the program does not update it.

I don't see anything in the registry that is suspicious.
I checked the the C:\Cumulus directory is not read only.

Any ideas?

Have you tried turning on the debug log and looking for errors?

If you can't see anything obvious, turn on the debug log, let it run for 10 minutes, then zip up the diags folder and attach it, together with the debug.log file.

Here it is.
More than 10 minutes though.

You don't appear to have a working outdoor temperature sensor. Cumulus requires a certain level of working functionality before it will start logging data, to try to avoid stupid values being logged. An outdoor temperature sensor is one of the requirements, as so many of the logged values depend on it. You should find that your February log file and dayfile.txt are pretty much empty (or even non-existent). You probably also have no graphs.

OK, that would explain it then.
The outdoor temp sensor failed the first time the temp went down in the 30s this fall.
My guess is a bad solder joint but the other sensors work so I was not in a hurry to break the unit open. I guess I'll have to fix it or replace it now.

Thanks! - Dave.
