v1.8.0

Post by TgT »

Oi there!

Today I`ve been trying out this new version and found the problem under graphs menu.
When im trying to zoom in the wind graphs aplication simply crashes.
Also the wind average points are the same as wind direction points after restart of the program. Reading wrong line from logs?

Didnt find out anything else, yet. :P

Edit: Happens with 1.7.17 also.

When you say, zoom in, are you "selecting" the graph so it shows in the large image?

Assuming you have a Fine Offset type station, it only stores one wind direction in the logger, so Cumulus simply displays that one twice. It could work out an average as it goes, I suppose; I can add that in a later release.

Yes, first clickling on small one then on big one click+down/right to zoom in and it crashes.

I'd forgotten it did that :)
and it crashes.
Works fine for me, on a Vista machine and an XP machine. Do you get a 'bug report' dialog? Could you send me the bug report (you'll have to save it then email it to me - steve@sandaysoft.com - I disabled the 'email' facility in 1.8.0).

Yes, I lied :) It's because Cumulus only saves one wind direction in its data files, and it uses that to populate the graphs at startup.

I experienced the same crash when zooming in on the wind direction graph.
Have opened a ticket in the tracking system.

Thanks - I can reproduce that with the wind direction graph (same with the small one). TgT - is it the wind direction graph that causes you the problem?

I would not have figured that one out.

Works okay for all graphs except wind direction. Then it blows up.

I haven't seen mention in the changelogs, so I'll ask here: have you made any progress towards dumping out a WXNOW.txt file suitable for use by UI-View (and others I'd assume)? I'm basically not able to switch from WeatherLink until I get that functionality, but I'm monitoring here in hope it'll come, because I like almost everything else about Cumulus. :-)

Can someone post or PM me with a URL that points to a live WXNOW.txt file.

I tried to find one and failed. I was also in communication with Gerry Creager, who was going to help me, but some hurricanes came along and he had work to do!

Apologies for the delay in responding. I posted the WXNOW format info in the thread at https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=42

Actual files are usually not posted anywhere, but I can see about rigging my setup to copy the one I generate with my WeatherLink add-in so that you can get at it directly.

I think that spec is good enough... I will give it a try a bit later. Should be easy to generate from the realtime.txt data.
