New version available, see below for what's new.

Download version 1.1.8 : http://www.wokinghamweather.co.uk/downl ... DGv118.zip

New in this version:

1.1.8 - (22-03-12)

1. Pressure at station support for inch units "in", previously only supported "mb" & "hpa".

2. Added Frost Prediction to [Graphical Data] page.

3. Added Fog/Mist Prediction to [Graphical Data] page.

4. Rain prediction information on screen relocated on [Rain] tab.

With the addition of the Frost and Fog/Mist Predictions, I would be interested to hear
as how accurate the predictions are i.e. if it is Frosty or Misty did the program show
there was a possibility of it being Frosty or Misty.

If it is frosty or Foggy/Misty and the program did not predict it, could you let me know
what the following weather conditions are at the time of the Frost or Fog/Mist, based on
the following required information.

Temperature & Units (°F or °C) = ?
Dew Point & units (°F or °C) = ?
Humidity = ?
Pressure & Units (hPa, mb, in) =
Current Wind Speed & units (ms,mph, km/h, kts) =

For Example:
Temperature = 7.8 °C
DewPoint = 7.7 °C
Humidity = 99%
Pressure = 1035 hPa
WindSpeed = 1.0 mph

The more information I can gather the more accurate I will be able to get the program
to predict the conditions in the future. ;)

Hi Mark
If you save the URL then how about saving the Update Interval in the same file instead of having to set it each time the programme is started?
Also perhaps an Autostart function?

Hi Terry,

I have released a new version with the features you requested implemented :)

I have been testing it for a couple of hours and all seems to be working fine, could you let me know
if you have any problems. Thanks.

Download version 1.1.9 : http://www.wokinghamweather.co.uk/downl ... DGv119.zip

New in this version:

Mark
I like the reatimegrabber I should like some output-options if possible. As mentioned in prior version there are some forecasts it would be nice to verify the forecast after some time so a log would be welcome for comparing to the 'real logged weather'by cumulus, I cant stare 24 hours a day to forecasts 8-) , if the forecasts are acceptable it would be nice to put them on the website.

It should be nice to export the graphs in (selectable) intervals to disk (they can be ftp-ed to websites) I always think a graph says more as a huge page full with numbers.

Last not least I should like to have a Dutch version , I know this is very difficult if it can be done with Visual Basic express 2010 and you want to share the source I can give it a try.

One note about the graphs they start always from 0 (zero) can this be altered ? I used the local realtime.txt from the Cumulus directory for sparing bandwith) but it seems this doesn't work anymore ( url c:\cumulus\realtime.txt ) due the 'cachebuster' ??

Anyway thanks for the tool.

Hi Nitrx,

Sorry only just replied, but I am very busy at the moment with work so have not had chance to
do anything on the program as of late.

Hopefully over the next week I will get to have a look at adding and tweaking bits.

nitrx,

I have managed to enable the ability to select a local realtime.txt file now, so that's one I can
tick of your list of requested features ;)

With regards to the graphs Zero'ing. I think this is because Cumulus is set to Roll Over the log files
at midnight and therefore the graph shows the values dropping back down to Zero and restarting again.
Obviously this is something that Cumulus does and I do not have any control over, as my program just
reads what is output by Cumulus to the RealTime.txt file.

Download version 1.2.1 : http://www.wokinghamweather.co.uk/downl ... DGv121.zip

New in this version:

1.2.1 - (04-04-12)

1.
Added support for local Realtime.txt file grabbing. (by user entering local path into URL box).

2.
Added toggling ON or OFF of the "CacheBuster" see CheckBox under [Save URL] button, which saves
State i.e. "CacheBusterActive" or "CachBusterNotActive" to the file "CacheBuster.txt" which
must be present and reside in the application folder.

PLEASE NOTE:

That if you are reading a Local version of the realtime.txt file, the program will automatically
turn OFF the "CacheBuster".
I have had to do this as otherwise the program cannot read the file with the additional cachebuster
characters and will crash. Therefore the CheckBox will be automatically un-checked, with the path shown
for the "cacheBuster URL" updated on the next update interval, to that shown in the "Enter URL" field.

Tonight there is probably frost and fog is coming up the forecast predicts none of them

actual conditions

Temperature = 5.8 °C (trend -1,2)
DewPoint = 4.3 °C
Humidity = 99%
Pressure = 1003 hPa
WindSpeed = 0.0 mph[/i]

Ron (not sure if the forecast changes because I leave the PC now )

Edit you can ignore my message there was no frost or fog over here, realtimegrabber did a better forecast as the official Meteo over here :D

Hi Ron,

LOL that's good to know ;)

I woke up this morning to frost on my car and roof of my shed. When I looked at Grabber
it correctly indicated that there would be frost, so it looks like it is working OK :)

New version implementing requested enlargement of screen plus a few more tweaks, see below for
further info and download.
geoffp wrote:...one thing Mark will the grabber ever be opened up to a full screen version, this would expose the menu bar in full :D
Geoff, This has now been implemented and all tabs fit onto the screen now so no need to scroll through them ;)

Download version 1.2.5 : http://www.wokinghamweather.co.uk/downl ... DGv125.zip

New in this version:

1.2.5 - (21-04-12)

1. Increased TabControl area to display all tabs at once, therefore no need to scroll between them anymore.

2. Removed selectable temperature lines on Temp Graph due to error's being thrown when the
[Clear all] button was pressed.

Now only "Current Temp" & "Dew Point" lines are shown. "High Temp" & "Low Temp" were not
really adding anything useful to the graph so these have been removed.

3. Various graphic's added to the following Tab screens; Wind, Wind Compass, Rain & Graphical Data.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

New update now available :)

As I have added a few more graphs to the program, I have had to introduce
the Tab <Left & Right> buttons back in to allow the user to scroll between
screens (Sorry Geoff! ;) if I get some more time I may see if I can re-size to fit again
without the tab buttons, but with the more screens it is starting to get a bit difficult. )

Download version 1.2.7 : http://www.wokinghamweather.co.uk/downl ... DGv127.zip

New in this version:

1.2.7 - (05-04-12)

1. Pressure chart added.

2. Rain chart added.

3. Humidity chart added.

4. Re-ordered & Renamed some Tabs.

5. Temperature Graph (on Main Screen), colour changed.
