Hi Mark,
I have installed v.144 and it seems to be running well except that anytime I minimize the console then the "Start - Export Charts" button displays and which appears that the export had stopped. Then pressing the "Start - Export Charts" button after a few seconds the "Stop - Export Charts" button will display indicating that export has started again. In the previous version I occasionally had the export stop by itself for no known reason and then pressing the "Start - Export Charts" button would begin the export again for days no matter if I maximized or minimized the console, but now with v.144 the export stops every time when I minimize. Is there a setting I have missed?

Hi Paul,
I am sorry to hear that you are having problems with Grabber.
I wonder if it could be a problem with Windows 8 ?
I have tested ver 1.4.4 on the following Operating Systems:
Windows XP
Windows 7
And cannot replicate the problem you are having.
i.e. when I run Grabber and click the [Start - Export Charts] button, then minimize Grabber
to the application tray and then restore it, the Export Charts button remains on it's current state
and does not reset back to "Start - Export Charts", it still displays "Stop - Export Charts"
meaning that it is updating to the FTP site.
Is anyone else having this problem? If so could you also post back to the
here and let me know. Along with which windows version you are running
Grabber on.
Also if there is anyone else running Grabber on Windows 8 could you let
me know you get the same problem as Paul has mentioned in his previous post.
As I don't have access to a Window 8 machine I cannot test it myself.
Paul:
Just to rule it out being an FTP problem, when it happens again, could you try the
TEST ftp upload. This can be found under the "Configuration Screen" under the FTP Section,
there is a [Test] button, could you press this and see if you get the MessageBox
displayed stating that the test was successful, or if you get an error. As it may be that the
access to the FTP site was not available when you tried earlier.
Thanks
Mark

Hi Mark,
I think I have now found what is happening.
I prefer the active Grabber icon to stay in the Task Bar rather than go to the System Tray when I minimize, so I used "Pin this program to taskbar". Then when I minimize there is a Grabber icon in both the System Tray and Taskbar (when I then maximize from the Taskbar it starts a second (new) instance of Grabber and this is the one that shows the "Start - Export Chart". So every time I had minimized the same scenario occurs and I had many Grabber icons in the System Tray (without me realizing this, so it was my incorrect use of "Pin this program to taskbar" that caused my issue).
I think v.1.4.2 is when the minimize to system tray was included but I can't find how I can turn this off as that would avoid the issue. I seldom minimize and usually have various other weather applications or pages displayed (covering up some programs like Grabber) so in running v.1.4.2 I only noticed the button change to "Start ..." on a few occasions, but in this version new install it caught my attention immediately.
Can you direct me where or how to not have minimize to System Tray?
Thanks Mark, and sorry for leading you on this wild goose chase,
Paul

Hi Paul,
No problem
There is no option currently to turn Minimize to SystemTray off.
But I can add this to the next version for you

I will add it to
my ToDo list.
I am very busy at the moment but as soon as I get some free time
I will add an option to choose whether to minimize to TaskBar or
SystemTray.

Thanks Mark. And no priority as I have learned that I can have the icon show in the System Tray where before it was set to be hidden - learning something new every day

This way it is now visible and I will likely not be starting a second, or third... instance

Hi Lluis,
I will add these in the next release for you. I am a bit busy
at the moment, so it may be a while before I can get round
to adding these. But as soon as I have done them I will
post the new version up here.
Regards,
Mark

One thing I did notice is that the tenths of a degree when the temperature is within 100 to 101 F is truncated within the control. See image below:
Thanks for making this little program. I really like it when I don't feel like having to fire up the browser...

Llois,
Can you confirm all your info has been entered into the
Configuration Screen correctly.
Please note that you will need to have created a folder on your ftp site called "grabber"
before you start tyring to run the [Start - Export Charts]
if so, can you press the
[Test] button on the
Configuration Screen, see
screenshot below, as this will try and upload a test file to your ftp site, and let me know if you
get any error messages.
BigOkie,
Thanks for pointing that out I will resize the TextBox so it does not cut off the value in the
next release for you.
