Still some discrepancies...

Hi
I am still getting some inconsistencies with either the weather station (a Watson W-8681) or Cumulus. I have posted before regarding the Highest Minimum and Lowest Maximum in all time records being 999.0 and -500.0. I was advised an upgrade to 1.8.4 should solve that, but it hasn't. Also I've noticed today I'm showing 0.3mm of rain for the last hour when none has fallen.

I also have another question I'm hoping someone can help me with. The weather station is slowly filling up with data and although Cumulus downloads when connected, it still seems to retain historic data. Will this data only be downloaded via the Easyweather software? If so, the issue I have is I've misplaced the Easyweather software as I ruled it out fairly early on, but if I need it to clear the weather stations memory, I'm in a bit of a fix! I think there is a manual clear memory, so I could just use that, I guess

Thanks for any help,
Mark

I've also just noticed that the snow information is incorrect on both days when it has snowed, which shows zero along with days snow lay on the ground, also zero. We've had a reasonable amount of snow here over the last couple of weeks.

Thanks
Mark

Can;t really help with your "alltime records" but unless you specifically want to clear the memoery, there is no need.
The station automatically deletes the earliest entry from it's memory every time it inserts a new one.

(Cumulus does not delete the data fro the station when it downloads and as far as I am aware nho weather display type software does)..

Unfortunately, the station does not record snow (as far as I am aware, niether does Cumulus)

You're probably not going to like this, but can I ask you to upgrade to 1.8.5? :-)

I'm sorry if I gave the impression (I can't remember) that upgrading would remove the erroneous data, an upgrade will never do that. I was probably saying that an upgrade would stop it happening again. You probably have a false entry in dayfile.txt which you can edit out, and then use the all-time record editor to correct the all-time records.

Regarding the snow, did you remember to click 'update' when you entered it?

Hi
sorry not to have responded sooner, but been away. Thanks for the responses. The clearing of data is good, saves me worrying about that.

I have Cumulus running on a second PC now and that one had 1.8.5 on it and the odd data has disappeared! To be fair, it downloaded all data from day one into the new install, I didn't copy anything across so that would explain it, I guess? Regarding the snow, I did update, but it showed 0.0mm. How would it measure snow anyway?

Thanks for the help, just about to put a new post up re web pages

It can't. The idea is that you tell it how much snow there is.
