Streaming Webcam Timelapse Video - Testers Needed
Posted: Thu 09 Feb 2012 6:41 pm
I've got a bunch of webcam timelapse video I want to stream. I can use my own server to stream it (Windows Media Server) or I can use something like JustIn.tv to stream it. I'd prefer to stream my own. But it needs to be tested.
Here is the link using an .asx file: http://science.uvu.edu/wilson/weather/n ... lcrest.asx (note, there are two videos here, 2011 and 2012)
Here is the direct mms link: mms://science.uvu.edu/Hillcrest/Hillcrest2012.wmv
Would some of you be so kind as to test the links (I'm most interesting in how the .asx file behaves) and let me know what you saw:
Did the link work?
Did it play right away in your default player?
Did it stream okay, or did it pause/hiccup?
Did the stream throw an error (or otherwise die) before it finished?
Was the wait for the buffer to fill unbearable long?
Did the bandwidth of the video exceed your internet bandwidth?
Was finding a specific date to view worth the effort?
Thanks, everyone!
