Hi
I am a complete novice when it comes to even the simpliest of website creation but with some help of the Wiki in here and the help at my hosts, after several hours I managed to get it up and running.....or so I thought.
I could not get the pages to update despite several forced web updates through Cumulus - despite this all of the pages displayed correctly.
This evening I decided to have another mess around in places I'd never been before and made the situation worse.
The front page is still displaying the out of date data and most of the others nothing.
I understand to an extent why the other pages are blank as the sizes of the .htm files are zero K - what I don't understand is how it happened !
My questions are - what is the best way to get back to where I was and is there an obvious reason why the pages weren't updating ?
I also understand that my enquiry may be too vague but my lack of an overall understanding does not help.
Thanks in advance to anybody that can help.
Regards
Graeme

Are you using the 'standard' web site? Turn on ftp logging in Cumulus, and then after an upload should have taken place, attach the ftplog.txt file here. Please give a link to your web site, and attach a screen shot of your internet settings in Cumulus.

Hi Steve
Thanks in advance for your help.
Yes I am using the standard website as at least for now it looked the simplest route to take - for me at least.
I have attached the files as requested - my site address is

Re: Help please with Website creation
This is the problem:
18:58:48:160 FTP Command: CWD /virtual/users/WebID/web
18:58:48:161 04FF62B0 TriggerDataSent 456
18:58:48:302 FTP Response: 550 /virtual/users/WebID/web: No such file or directory
I suspect that you should have something specific to you instead of 'WebID'.

OK Steve - thanks - I've tried several combinations of what I thought the WebID might be and thus far none have worked - have had enough tonight and will try again tomorrow.

Re: Help please with Website creation
You could work on the basis that your ftp login already puts you in the /virtual/users/'WebID' directory, and try just putting "web" (no leading slash) for the ftp directory in Cumulus.

Many thanks - that worked a treat !
Now, just to get rid of the 'rain' readings of the recent snow melt and some recent spurious data... but it's OK I know how to do that
Cheers
