upload issues

Hi,
hope somebody can help.
I have been messing arround with indexT.html to get it the way I want and all seemed fine for a week or two until I got fed up with the free hosting falling over a lot.
I decided to try another hosting package my brother had but alas no PHP, so I changed all back and the website is blank.
From what I can see the index.html and index.htmtmp files are 0 bytes, though indexT.html looks okay!
so I put info in them and something within cumulus is wiping the files so the website doesnt work.
The realtime.txt is okay as you will see from my signature but my website is blank see

Hope I have explained this properly and somebody can help
regards
Milton

I think you need to show your internet settings in Cumulus. Are you using the 'standard' pages? I think not, as the standard pages end '.htm' not '.html'.

Steve,
many thanks for yr prompt response!
Its really weird as I can put good current data in index.htm via smartftp and then after cumulus updates the htmtmp file is blank and thats what cumulus is uploading, hence the blank webpage!
screen prints of my cumulus internet settings and uploaded files.
What else do you need to check?
Regards
Milton

I can't work out what you're trying to achieve with those settings. It looks like you are getting Cumulus to "process" files that have already been processed; this is possibly why you were getting blank files. One of those files is javascript?

Steve,
the settings within cumulus have worked for a year, even though, as you say they are duplicating what cumulus does.I obviously didnt know that or wouldnt have set this up like this. the java script ,I thought, was from one of the downloads from cumulus to make the gauges fancy, see
http://www.milton-brown.co.uk/weather/C ... ltime.html
Whatever I have done today has made this duplication cause me major headaches
In the last 3 hours I have purchased web space to avoid the freebie x10 which seems to fall over every few mins
new link is
www.milton-brown.co.uk/weather/index.htm
which works, however different issues
the gauges and trends links at the bottom dont show the correct time yet the gauges.htm and the trends.htm within cumulus/web directory show the correct time
any ideas ?
regards
Milton

Possibly you had a timeout during the ftp upload and they failed to update. I had some failures to connect with my browser when looking at your site earlier. If it persists, you could turn on the ftp logging.

Steve,
main site (new add) works fine for the main page, however, if you look at the gauges link and the trend link these do not show the correct data.
the gauges shows the date the file was last updated on the website (23.27 on 7th) at the top yet at the bottom it shows the date the file was updated on the PC!
www.milton-brown.co.uk/weather/index.htm
Have tried deleting all the none T ending files in the web directory which changes nothing!
The 23.27 is the time I last copied a file manually to the website!
I have attached copies of my web and pc directories
Am I missing something obvious or do you want me to turn FTP on and send you the results?

You've configured the ftp directory incorrectly. Here's your gauges page which is being uploaded:

Steve,
as ever thanks for the prompt response.
Sorry for appearing thick, but what have I done wrong and how should the ftp directory be configured?

Steve,
Think I have found out what was wrong
I had just public_html as the upload directory when it should have been public_html/weather
All appears okay now apart from changing the templates to put my picture further up so it doesn't overlap.
My knowledge is improving, I think!
Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction and making me think!
