Re: Queensland: Flooding
I don't live there, but have been there often enough. The town of St George- very flat area with lots of cotton farming has had a lot of evacuations, as have a few other towns. A lot of the water is moving into far northern New South Wales now.

Re: Queensland: Flooding
Well I'm in Queensland, but safe from the flooding in the west. The rain has eased in the west but there large rainfall totals over the last week or two. Also on the east coast there was a fair bit of rain, but that flooding eased soon afterwards. It passed though Mitchell (cuts for days), Roma (also been cut off) and now heading for St George and Surat. It seems that the levee at Charleville is holding, hope it hold.

They are doing is tough, because many of the towns have been flooded several times in the last few years. Thoughts with them.

Weipa on in the north of Quensland just coped 113mm in the last 11.5hrs. There is a low system forming in the Gulf of Carpentaria between NT (Palmerston) and QLD.

Re: Queensland: Flooding
Upper Springbrook (Gold Coast Hinterland) I think almost got 900mm but they average 3 metres a year. Here at Brisbane I got almost 400mm for this year and over 300mm in that recent lot of rain but other places got more than that.
