RAIN GAUGE QUESTION ??

Post by iceberg »

The WS-1612CH-IT..... from La Crosse Technology. I was wondering if the rain gauge from this weather station could plug into the National Geographic 265NC Thermo-Hygro Sensor.
I find the opening on top of the la cross rain gauge better suited for larger amounts of rainfall then the National Geographic 265NC.

I got a WS 1600, the gauge is average, it does the job. However the gauge from a ws 2300 series station (WS-2306) I got is better, because it is bigger and collects it better and haves 4 screws rather than 2 screws.

WS 2306 rain gauge: http://www.lacrossetechnology.com/tx10/index.php

But there are many different La Crosse rain gauge models, because I did have a wireless rain gauge station and that had a wireless rain gauge - model number of TX24 -IT, the WS 1600 rain gauge is TX26-IT but that is a cabled gauge that connects to the temp sensor and my WS-2306 has a entirely differnt gauge, the TX10U and that is cabled. As far as I am aware, only the rain gauge weather station that only measures rain uses a wireless gauge such as you linked to, but most other weather stations of La Crosse with temp/hum/wind/rain etc use cable from the wind and rain sensors. So assuming La Crosse gauge would work with a Fine Offset, you need to obtain a cabled rain gauge because is that how the Fine offset connect to the temp sensor.

I have the old WS2310 OAK,,,
the rain gauge had bees in it while removing them
I broke off the wire. I re-soldered the wire
but i can get the gauge to function now.
I have done 20 resets...
pressed the + key
even talked to La Cross
it's a simple magnetic switch....
a 2 wire modular plug....
Anyone have any thought as to what I'm missing?
I will listen to any ideas....please?
