AWEKAS

Post by bumpy »

Help please?
Having discovered AWEKAS, I opened an 'account' intending for my weather data to be displayed there. Unfortunately despite repeated efforts I just cannot get Cumulus to update AWEKAS. I have carefully followed the WIKI instructions for AWEKAS and downloaded the file into my Cumulus data folder with the name awekas_wl.htm. When I open this file I can see the webtags but after forcing a web upload no data replaces the webtags. The same file is uploaded on the server. I have, as instructed, browsed for the awekas_wl.htm file and this is added to Cumulus files menu and the box ticked to 'Process'. When I force a web update I simply get a message 'FTP error' but then a file appears in the data folder: awekas_wl.htmtmp which I cannot open. I am also mystified by the screen capture shot on the WIKI which appears to show both the details of files required for the 'local filenames' which I assume is the browsed file from the data folder but where does the 'remote filenames' file come from. Try as I might I cannot see that the WIKI explains this bit. I have tried various combinations but I cannot get Cumulus to send data to the server. Possibly this is a step too far for me......!
If someone can help I would be very grateful.

Cumulus can't overwrite your awekas_wl.htm file with actual data, as it would only be able to do this once. So it creates that 'tmp' file, which is actually an html file, you can load it into a text editor. The 'remote filename' has to be a path and file name on your ftp server which tells Cumulus where to put the file and what to call it. I can't tell you what to put for that as it depends on how your ftp server is set up.
