More Fine Offset craziness

Post by Spider-Vice »

So I've made a topic here before about the new transmitter I received which was fine now for rain but not for wind direction, but I didn't get an answer. Today at around 2am it started registering rain, the winds were at about 40 km/h. Nothing much as it's survived much more in its current conditions without fake precipitation. Then it continued after some minutes but sensor contact was never lost. Around an hour after I saw an 88 km/h wind gust which I might believe but at the same time the diags file said something about a very high rain value, so ignoring. It screwed up all my records and I had to correct them. So I find this very odd, whatever it is, even because at the time of that gust it got the wind direction while it was broken  Also when I clear the memory I get odd spikes that disappear then, and if I do so with Cumulus off, Cumulus goes download data that was never there... Very weird.

I might just sell it someday for my future investment. FO is just too much of a hassle.

So now I've noticed I've been getting spikes in the relative humidity, but not very big ones and they aren't cut by the spike removal settings, RH went from 26 to 18% and then back to 26, and this has happened before today. Something's seriously wrong

Any ideas? Next week I might try changing batteries on everything.

Hi,

I believe that the spike removal ONLY applies to "live" data, not data downloaded from the logger memory.

Yes, changing the batteries is definitely the first thing to try, but many FO stations do seem to suffer these problems anyway. :(

Cheers, Alan.

Oh it was live data, well at the moment it's fine but I'll try changing the batteries once I can. No more fake precipitation or weird data today.

If it was live data then presumably it didn't suddenly switch from one value to the next between adjacent readings.
