Maybe:

Code: Select all

.xml file

<realtimeURL>http://web.ripnet.com/~mbkerr/cumulusrealtime.html</realtimeURL>
Real link:

Code: Select all

http://web.ripnet.com/~mbkerr/CumulusRealtime.html
Spot the difference ;)

In your 'CumulusRealtime.xml' file the following line is wrong:

Code: Select all

<realtimeURL>http://web.ripnet.com/~mbkerr/cumulusrealtime.html</realtimeURL>
It should be looking for the 'realtime.txt' file to get the weather data and not look at itself, such as:

Code: Select all

<realtimeURL>http://web.ripnet.com/~mbkerr/realtime.txt</realtimeURL>

Thanks for the feedback fellows. Still hangs @ loading data. Will put the issue aside for a bit. Would like to concentrate on making changes to this site.

Hey Duke - this is winter in Canada after all. Might as well present reality. Like your site. Any wisdom you care to share about its' development could be sent to me at beaker@ripnet.com
Cheers

Thank you for your comments, glad to know you like it and the effort has been worth while, although, still a lot to do.

As for wisdom, I knew nothing a few weeks ago, I couldn't have done it without a lot of searching and reading and without the solid advice and support from the guys on here.

But, if you have an idea, not quite sure of something, search here and the web first, then come back here and ask. You'll learn far more using this route. I did.

Regards Duke
