Loss of wind sensor readings

I know this is probably a hardware issue, but I have a N69GY weather station maplin special, which i set up just after Christmas. However today i have noticed that it stopped recording wind speed for some reason? All cables seem OK and all other readings including wind vane (which the anemometer in plugged in to) are fine.
Do i have a faulty sensor?
Any help would be much appreciated before i start taking things to bits!

Gosh you're local
Have you tried removing the batteries temporarily?
Get yourself signed up here:

I need more local stations to compare with
There are instructions on how to set Cumulus up up to support the site here:

Hi Richard,
are you talking about removing batteries from temp sensor or receiver, or both?
I really don't want to screw up my data anymore, as i've already recorded some rain today with me messing around at the top of a ladder looking at the station!! I know i can manipulate the data once stored but its a pain in the arse.
I have signed up to the met office WOW if you are on there? I will look at the awekas as well.
Thanks
Vic

From the console first....and clear the memory on the console...if that doesn't work, then am afraid you will have to try the sensor.
There have been reports of this happening before, and resetting the console has fixed it before....let's hope that is your problem.
Am on WOW...click on my banner below to go to my site and you'll see the other sites I am signed up to as well
Don't sign up to AWEKAS until you have your station working properly though, as they have a quality checking system, and will block you until your readings fall within similar parameters to those sites around you

OK, all working now. Still not entirely sure what i did to get it working, as resetting the main unit did not work. I actually think it was a loose connection in the end.
With regards to sending data to weather monitoring sites, i know what you mean about having accurate data. I am using a site a few miles from me as a starting point and for the last week or so has tracked quite nicely (excluding wind speed).
How did you make your banner a live link to your site by the way?

That's good news...well done

This is the syntax I used for my banner
Code: Select all

That's great....but are you sure your co-ordinates are correct?
Looking at the member map you seem to be abit further west than Ashford....looking at the member map, your station is just north of Eastbourne.
Your station is top left of the pop up box on the map below

I just did a pressure data check on the AWAKA site and used your site as a comparison, OK its not perfect, but should it really be exactly the same?
