Apache 2 Test Page
Hello Everybody
My new website site which I am struggling to build has been blocked by Apache 2 test page powered by CentOS. I have no idea what this is as I am a complete novice to websites.
My site worked in so far as it had a white background with black text on it and it was updating when I did a forced manual update. It never looked like the Std Cumulus website so many pepole have so I decided to delete everything and start afresh. This I did and performed a new manual web update.
When I went to looked at the page it comes up with the apache test page and what they are asking to look at /var/www/html/ /etc/httpd/conf.d/welcome.conf. are just gobbledeegouk to me.
Can anybody simplify what I have to do to unblock it as I have googles this problem extensively and are none the wiser.
Web site is www.britannia-weather.talktalk.net
Regards
Howard

Re: Apache 2 Test Page
You probably have the wrong directory path configured in Cumulus, so the Cumulus pages aren't going to the right place, and that's why you see the default page.

Hello Steve
Can you remember when you looked at member mlp2 (Marshall's) site which should be identical to mine as we are on the same ISP whether the directory path was just the folder name or was it preceeded by a / ?

Re: Apache 2 Test Page
I think in his case no change of directory was required, so the field was blank.

Re: Apache 2 Test Page
Hello Everybody
Everything looks OK and if I open the index.htm from my FTP log on the file is the STD Cumulus Web page but I cannot get past this test page! Can anybody point me to where the problem is i.e. my PC or my ISP server?
Attached is the image of the manual Wed update which looks to me spot on!

The ftp progress window isn't any use for diagnosing ftp issues. You need to turn on the ftp log and look at the ftplog.txt file.

Re: Apache 2 Test Page
Looks fine. Your Cumulus pages are here, where you've told it to put them: http://www.britannia-weather.talktalk.net/cumulus/
You just need a 'home' page (e.g. index.html) in the root of your web site with a link to your weather pages. Or move your Cumulus pages up to the root (leave the ftp directory field blank).
