Cumulus generating random rainfall records

Yesterday, when I sat down to look at Cumulus, it was alerting me to the fact that there were new records. When I opened the records window, I saw that it was saying there were new records for highest rain rate and highest hourly rain. The problem with that is that it was perfectly sunny and clear at the times those records were set, and the actual rainfall data for those times agrees with that.

Another bit of information is that these records were generated minutes after I had unplugged my station from my computer and reset the station, due to the fact that Cumulus was telling me that it had lost contact with my station (not lost sensor contact).

Is there any way to correct these records, and is there a way for me to avoid this happening in the future?

Cumulus has built-in editors for highs and lows, so you could use those, or you could perhaps extract old high/low files (alltime.ini etc) from one of the backup folders.

As for stopping it happening again, Fine Offset stations have a tendency to generate false rainfall readings. Cumulus does try to work around them, and you can also use the 'spike removal' settings on the calibration screen to filter out high rates and hourly rain.
