Cumulus stop receiving data every min for 8 - 10 seconds

Good Evening,
Just a quick question. I have a Vanyage Vue with the weatherlinkIP. I have the updates to weatherlink turned off through the network adapter and the release in cumulus set to 0. But at the top of each minute cumulus stops receiving data for 8 to 10 seconds. Just curious as to why? does the Davis unit perform some function every minute? is there any way to change this?
I'm n00by to this and trying to learn as much as I can. Thank you for your time and the great software !

If you've got 'discon period' set to zero, it shouldn't be doing the once-a-minute periodic disconnect. But it does do other things once a minute - like reading the barometer data - so perhaps this is taking a long time on your system for some reason. To begin with, please zip up the diags folder and attach it, and I'll see if I can see anything. But I think I will probably need you to get further diagnostics at some point.
Edit: I've just got around to watching mine to see what happens, and it does the same - and mine is a serial logger. I think it must be something to do with reading the barometer data; I'll investigate.

It is indeed the reading of the barometer data that causes the delay; it's the time taken to wake up the console and then read off the data. I've tweaked it a little so it sometimes gets the data faster, but I'm limited by what I can do by the Davis DLL that actually does all the reading. The barometer data that gets read is only used for calculating Altimeter Pressure, as required by CWOP, so I think that the best I can do is to offer an option to not calculate Altimeter Pressure so that those who don't upload to CWOP aren't inconvenienced.

Then I'm afraid you/we are stuck with it. It's very annoying. There are two things that may happen at some point which may improve things. First, I intend to try the latest Davis DLL; this has a better way of getting the barometer data, which may help. Second, in the longer term, I'd like to move away from using the Davis DLL. But this will require a complete rewrite of the Davis code in Cumulus.
