Powering the WH3081 console?

Post by Feek »

Through searching around, I've read some differing views so I wanted to try and get a clear and definitive answer.

If the Watson W8681-Solar (rebadged WH3081) is connected to a computer via USB, does it take power that way?

If not then that's fine, I'll sort out an external 6v PSU to power mine so that I don't have to faff about with batteries.

Thanks.

Yes it's powered by the USB connection and you should really keep batteries in as a backup at power loss so the console keeps running. The batteries are only used when there is no USB power.
I assume it is the same on the 3081 as the 1081?

Thanks Terry, it does have batteries in but it's good to know that it's powered by USB.
