Very Nice....

What was the Original External Cam From?

I might need to look at doing something like that.
As it's a pain having it inside.

I bought 3 from aldi's age's ago, i did use them as security cameras with a dvr but it has now gone quite her so i took them down. I was going to buy a cctv housing from maplin's as they do the same job http://www.maplin.co.uk/authentic-exter ... mera-37659.

I had a look at the Maplins one the other day, but didn't think the Camera would fit in there.
I will try and make my own!

So I can then break the Camera and get a better IP one!

OP, what Camera is that? a Cinema or a Studio? (And did you do anything to the Blue LED?)

I think I can see by the pictures now.

I presume it's a Cinema and you've used White Tak over the LED?

Good old blue tack...

What would us web cam modders do without it.
I just need to do something similar now with a mount.

Did you just drill a large hole to get the USB Cable through the wall, or have you gone a differnt way?
And how long is the USB Cable.

I just got a 12m Extension USB Cable, which so far is working well.

i used the cable that came with it dont extend it because youre frame's per second will drop i dont use any usb extensions cause i got my setup close to my bedroom window. I did not drill any holes in my upvc window frame i just opened my window and closed the window on the cable between the frame and the window seal .

I have my main webcam (MS LifeCam Cinema) cable just fed in through the window in the draught excluder too - the cable is quite thin. I put my webcam in a plastic box from Maplin with a 25mm circular polarizing filter glued into a hole in one end as optical window and to improve the image. Works wonders on the sky. :) I'm using a 3m USB extension cable. Oh, and I fashioned a hood out of an old plastic milk bottle. Yours looks much neater :)

Sorry, no banner - weather station out of action. Hoping to be up and running with a new home-made one soon.

Camera is extended just a little, and placed on the ground. I use it for personal use only as both security and weather. It will get everything that passes close to the camera, but not things out the fence or traffic passing by on the road. But has a lovely shot of the sky as it points up at a 30 degree elevation. I have motion sensing perfectly set up at the moment so that at sunrise and sunset (faces west), it will detect the light changes and take pictures of the sunset. This perfect adjustment takes good shots of storms, large gusts of wind (movement of trees 100m away) and lightning. Makes for good timelapse. I have a page on my website (just for me, no need to look), that will automatically put the pictures together to view all the latest timelapse. Would LOVE to have better coding for that on my page. But works for the moment. Just remembered, I posted a vid on youtube here: (warning, bad quality, must get better camera!): http://youtu.be/XQiZCAc27C0
