Errors processing standard gauges.htm

Post by mdroberts1243 »

Hi,
I am trying to start with the 'out of the box' website templates and everything came up working except gauges.htm
gauges.htm is not copied over to the website directory, and there are error messages in the diagnostics log...
The first error I noted in the log was:
22/01/2012 20:39:33.131 : Error processing realtime file U:\Cumulus\web\gauges.htmtmp. Error: Line too long on line 140
Subsequently, there are I/O errors every time I do a web update:
22/01/2012 21:09:34.007 : Error processing realtime file U:\Cumulus\web\gauges.htmtmp. Error: I/O error 32

As I said, nothing changes to the templates... just the standard files.
I've tried searching the forum and can't find anything specific to this problem

Thanks,
-mark.

It looks like you are getting Cumulus to process a file that has already been processed - a processed gauges.htm has some very long lines in it. I assume you're using the 'files' tab on the internet settings page, because you're copying to a local ftp server? If that's the case, you can either untick the 'process' boxes, or you can specify the 'template' files (the ones with the T in them) for the local files.

Thanks,
I didn't realize that you leave process unticked, or that you could specify the template file as the 'source'...
My problem corrected itself when I decided to restart cumulus, but perhaps that's only a temporary solution until the line length grows larger.
So, in general, should I specify the template file as the source and turn on processing, with the .htm as the output file? Or should I just copy the .htm files over to the web directory and turn off processing on all of them?
Attached is a screen shot of my internet settings.

Thanks,
-mark.

If you want some of the 'standard' templates to be processed at the realtime interval, then you'll have to specify the 'template' file as the source and leave 'process' ticked. Otherwise you are copying the same file that won't actually have changed. So you should probably do that for all of them.

Thanks, done. Now I just need to figure out why the 'rainfall' on the gauge page is zero, when the other pages and control console indicate 1.5mm.
