I have a Davis Vantage Vue with a Davis usb data logger, however it is running in serial mod via Silabs CP210x drivers.
I have been running Cumulus ver. 1.9.2 build 1027 for about a week on a system with win7 x64. After I open Cumulus, a pop up window says it is downloading data. At this point the Vue console indicates there is no transmission from the ISS. The pop up window terminates after a few seconds, and both the Vue console and Cumulus are flat lined for 3-4 minutes, after which both work normally. Weatherlink and Weather Display both operate without this delay.
The attached diags file indicate no errors (to me anyway). I have read the various documentation and find no reference to this issue. Assuming this delay is not normal behavior for Cumulus, anyone have any ideas?

Re: Console and Cumulus are flat lined for 3-4 minutes on op
You have your Davis logger set to 30 minutes, and your Cumulus logger interval set to 10 minutes. This means you are hitting the Davis 'feature' described in the Cumulus readme.txt file:
"It is strongly recommended that you set the archive interval
in your station and the Cumulus logging interval to the same
value. This is particularly important if you have a Davis station
as otherwise you may activate the 'feature' in the Davis stations
where they send the entire contents of the data logger when Cumulus
asks for the data since it was last running."
This means that downloading of the data from the station takes a long time and during the download, typically the station does not receive data from the ISS. I don't think I've ever seen this to cause the console to actually lose the connection, though. Does the console indicate that connection has been lost immediately Cumulus starts downloading data?

Thanks, Steve. I remember reading about the archive interval. I reset the station to 10 minutes. Same delay. And yes, the console transmission icon, although there, immediately stops "blinking" when Cumulus starts downloading data. It resumes after the 3-4 minute delay. As I mentioned, the Cumulus "downloading data" pop up window closes after only 3-5 seconds.

I don't have anything else to suggest, I'm afraid. Cumulus doesn't actually talk to the station directly, it uses a DLL supplied by Davis. Cumulus just tells the DLL to fetch the archive data since a particular date and time, and the DLL call returns when it's done it. I'm not aware of anyone else having this problem; I suppose it's possible that other Vue users do have the problem but haven't noticed, but you would think someone would have.

Thanks again. I will watch for anyone else that may have this problem.

I deleted all the diag files, and now there is no longer any delay whatsoever. Have no idea why, but it's working like a charm now. Thanks for a great program.
