Dayfile entries missing after downtime
At the suggestion of Steve i will start a new thread for this. Basically my pc was down from 5th Jan for 8 days. When i restarted Cumulus it didn't retrieve the data from the downtime days. The console was running for those days and should have the data. I tried to use a backup of the data folder to retrieve the data but it didn't work. Diags folder attached.

Re: Dayfile entries missing after downtime
When you started Cumulus again on 13th Jan, it tried to download the data from the logger to fill in for the time when it hadn't been running:

13/01/2012 18:05:44.606 : VP2: GetNumberOfArchiveRecords_V = 2559
13/01/2012 18:05:44.606 : VP2: Number of history records = 2559
13/01/2012 18:05:44.607 : Logger entry zero: Y = 2012, M = 1, D = 11, H = 23, M = 21

13/01/2012 18:05:44.607 : VP2: Actual number of valid history records = 2559
Your station logger is set to a 1-minute interval, which means it holds a maximum of less than 2 days, so that's all the data that was available (i.e. back to late on the 11th Jan).

Snap!
When you restarted on the 13th, Cumulus attempted to download history from the 5th, but your VP data logger only has data going back to the 11th

Re: Dayfile entries missing after downtime
Thanks guys, Guess the data is lost forever. Would it be good practice to change the interval time to more than 1 minute. Would this effect live updates to Cumulus in any way??

Re: Dayfile entries missing after downtime
It wouldn't affect live data at all. But you only need to change it if you think you'll ever need to catch up data for more than about 42 hours. A 5-minute interval would give you nearly 9 days.

Re: Dayfile entries missing after downtime
Thanks Steve.
In doing what i did today i doubled my rainfall for the month to 32mm and also lost the max gust of the month which was 76km/h on Jan 5th. What is the best way to correct these errors?
Mick
edit: Looking through my records again it looks like 32mm is correct.Max gust still needs to be fixed.

The monthly highs and lows are in month.ini; you can edit this using the editor in Cumulus on the Edit menu.
