Hi there,
I have a Wh1081 weather station that's been setup for about 3 years now. Recently it has been losing sensor contact at times as I see in the log, which I think is just the transmitter failing, but the bigger problem is that when I connect the console to my computer, I get the "USB device not recognized" windows error. Has anyone else had the same problem and knows how to fix it? Removing the batteries doesn't fix the problem, neither does leaving it unplugged overnight or using another USB port.
I know it's an old station, and am trying to save up for a Davis station, but anyone got any ideas?
Thanks

It could be the cable - have you tried a different one? A number of people have also had problems with faulty USB connectors on these stations.

Will try another cable tomorrow, just plugged it in with the existing USB cable and it connected without any trouble, so seems to be an intermittent problem? Also, any idea what would make the station receive false readings at rare intervals? I've had it say 165km/h for wind speed when There's been no wind and nothing near the station. Cheap unit I know, but trying to push it along until the whole thing goes.steve wrote:It could be the cable - have you tried a different one?
