Seeking inexpensive temp/humidity with computer tracking

Post by JLPicard »

Not sure if this is the right place to place this question, but I figured who better to know about humidity and temperature monitoring than the weather guys? I am building a 'curing' box for my hobby. I make hams, salamis, and different sausages and am building a curing box out of an old refrigerator for prolonged curing periods, up to several months long. I will need to monitor temp and humidity and would like to track it graphically on my computer. I am also in the States for the purchase. Oh, and not looking to spend a lot of cash either! Any ideas?

If you have the enough electronic proficient, maybe you can build a data logger using this part http://www.sensirion.com/en/01_humidity ... _sht15.htm as core sensor.

Good luck! :D

I do have an electronics background. I was researching an Arduino based setup.
