Web site set up

Hi,

just got a Maplin 1081 whcih I beleive is a Fine Offset unit and all set up and working fine. However, I can't set up the web page at all. I've tried to follow the instructions in the help file and have put the files in the public_html directory as I was told to do by the hosting site [glovine] but all I get when I go to the site address is an index page and that's all.

Any help greatly appreciated as this is driving me slightly mad as it's beyond the limit of my knowledge and I can't see what I have done wrong. I've attached a screen shot of the ftp upload page and also of the web page as it currently looks.

Thanks in advance for any help offered.

Ian

It looks like you completed the web site set up correctly. All you need now is to get Cumulus to upload the actual pages etc. You need to make a few settings on the internet configuration screen; see the wiki (http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Simple_Website_setup) and the help for more information.

Steve,

thanks for this confirmation. I've just gone through the settings as you have suggested and all seems OK now. I thought I had done that OK as well but something must have been wrong!

Anyway thanks again and here is the actual web site if anyone if interested enough to look.

Hi Ian

I think you may need to correct your rainfall data, I am in Harwich and we have not had that much rain :D

Hi Geoff,

yes I think it may be. I need to work it out as we had 1 day that was pretty wet but I know the data may have been affected as I had to change the mast and forgot to diconnect the rain gauge so it will have been wrong that day.

Do you know how I correct data. Do I just go in to the control panel and edit from there?

Thanks for pointing this error out for me.

Update. Just found out where to edit the file but can't be sure what the data should be. I think I will see if I can find the local met office rainfall for the day and edit to that. I know it won't be 100% accurate but will be closer than now!

Hi Ian

I registered 25.1mm so far this month, I Q.C with two other stations in the area and they are about the same as mine give and take .1 of a mm.

Hi Geoff,

Slightly OT but I'm just down the road from you in Kirby Cross and I notice my pressure reading is significantly different to yours and the other local stations nearby. Is there a correction I have to apply somewhere either in the console or in Cumulus?

Great to see all these new local stations!

Hey Jason!

There do seem to be a lot of stations in our little corner. I'm still tweaking my setup to get it right and once done I'll move Cumulus onto a dedicated computer where it will just sit and run by itself :)

Yes, you need to set the 'relative pressure' (AKA sea-level pressure) on your console. It's currently about 1032 mb where you are, so you need to set your console to match. You need to restart Cumulus once you've done it, to pick up the new setting.

Hi all.

I'm trying to find out the rainfall data for the Shoeburyness met office station and unfortunately it's part of the paid for data they provide and at £75 +vat I'm not willing to invest that just to correct my daily data log.

If anyone has a station near to Southchurch and would be willing to let me have daily rainfall data for this month then I would be grateful.

Failing that I will just adjust the monthly rainfall to date at the level Geoff suggest from his Harwich station, although I would like to correct a bit closer to home.

Thanks for any input in advance.

Ian

Maybe the Data from this Davis Station will suffice?
