Unless anyone has a great idea... Error 1816 usually seems to be associated with a lack of system resources. What else is running on that system? If this is the case a reboot will usually fix it - possibly temporarily if you have another process that is using up lots of resources like system handles and not releasing them. Look for programs that create lots of files or do lots of file I/o. A decent system process monitor may help if you know what you are doing.

This is Microsoft's advice for error 1816:

Error Message:
Not enough quota is available to process this command.

User Action:
Close some applications and try again. If you still get this message, choose System from Control Panel, then choose Virtual Memory and increase the size of your paging file.

Thanks for the replies - i will see what can be removed from the PC to free up some space and also increase the virtual memory and see if that cures it.
A reboot seems to work for so long then it re appears after a couple of days.
I will let you know

Thanks again
