downloading data error
Hello,
I'm a newbie to the PWS world... with that said, a question. After I installed my PWS last week, I've kept my computer running to maintain a constant data stream to the web (wunderground). Unfortunately, my laptop lost AC power and went into standby mode. I know that the Cumulus program doesn't deal well with this, but now I can't get any data to upload. When I now start the Cumulus program I get a pop-up message saying "Downloading data, please wait". Unfortunatlely, this message never goes away (after several hours), and no data is collected. I've gone so far as to re-download the program with no improvement. Any thoughts? No other changes had been made to my system, other than this accidental hibrenation and a restart. I'm confused.
Thanks in advance,
Greg

Re: downloading data error
Thanks, Steve.
For some reason, the zipped file doesn't seem to want to upload to this bulleton board (I've made several attempts). Is there another way for me to get you this file? Perhaps I can email it to you?
Thanks,
Greg

Re: downloading data error
There are two different problems shown in the files; on some starts, Windows can't find the station. On some starts, the station is there but isn't responding to requests for data. I suggest you try a reset (remove batteries and USB), and then make sure it's connected securely to the PC.

Re: downloading data error
The starts where the station couldn't be found were purposeful. I had to unplug the station in order to get the Cumulus program to allow me to get into its settings. When the station was/is plugged in, I can't get passed the "downloading data, please wait" dialogue box in order to try to make changes. But I'll try the hard reset as you suggest.

Re: downloading data error
Thanks Steve. That did the trick. I had debating trying that, but didn't want to risk losing my history data. But I suppose having no history is not worth losing the station all together.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

Re: downloading data error
Looks like the same problem as https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=6496, which I am also suffering from. Intermittent and very hard to diagnose.

Re: downloading data error
I have this same problem. I just got this software to go along with my new WS-2080 so that I could stream to wunderground.com station KWAOAKHA19 http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstat ... KWAOAKHA19
I first installed this the day before christmas and since then I have had to 'hard' reset my sensor three times due to cumulus not downloading the data (doing exactly what vtsocalm explained).
If I can be of any help please let me know what I can do.
Running win7 64bit.

Re: downloading data error
I'm wondering if anyone is still having the problems that I posed initially on this thread. I continue to have problems that require a hard reset of my weather station to solve. this always does the trick, but I lose all of my stations historical data. I'd love to know what is going on and have a more stable operating platform.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated,
Greg
