It looks like you need to delete everything from the website (right side remote) and replace it with all items in the (left side local). I have sent you a PM if you need me.

HI Neil

I am having a lot of trouble connecting to my webspace as when I try i get an error oooops etc etc and then a page comes up and tells me that apache server is installed but is not able to connect to my webspace and i should email my domain host and tell them what has happened. I have emailed the webmaster with that information but no reply yet.

I am trying different servers and client ftp to see if I can get one I can understand, so I will take my time and see what happens. I got your pm but did not know how to reply and in any case I don't think it would be a good idea I would hate to hear you tearing out your hair.

Anyway thanks for your assistance and I will come back to you if you can bear it.

Regards
marshall

Marshall,

Your website is working http://www.weather-hapton.talktalk.net/index.htm It now looks like you need to configure Cumulus to send the data... so progress ;)

Take another look at http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Simple_Website_setup

This is how mine looks but you obviously need to put in your details (when using Cumulus click on help associated with the screen you are viewing for specific help)

Hi Neil

This is a website displayed from 31 december 2011 and I know the webspace has been long deleted so is there a way I can retrieve the details of the displayed site bearing in mind I could only use the webspace name once etc etc

The web space can't have been deleted or we wouldn't be able to see the pages. Isn't it the web space with your Talk Talk account that you've been using all along? You need to put your ftp details into Cumulus and it will start updating the site.

Hi Steve

Thanks for your reply
All I know is that since i started making my webspace with talktalk I have deleted the webspace many times and created a new webspace each time with a different webspace name and user name. Could it be that the displayed website is stopping me connecting with anything else with a different webspace name etc.

I think that the way TalkTalk operate their web space must be making this much harder than it needs to be, and I'm afraid I don't know what to suggest. Normally you just have one username and password to log in to one ftp account. You log in with an ftp client and upload the necessary files, and then you give Cumulus the same login details that you used to prepare the web site.

Have you put the correct ftp server name, directory, username and password into the internet settings in Cumulus? You are likely to get lots of ftp errors otherwise.

Incorrect/invalid ftp server name, most likely.
