Data Error after System Restore (Screen Shot)

Post by Cambium »

Had to do another system restore back to October 23rd. I backed up the "data" file from the Cumulus folder. After restore was done, I opened the software & it automatically read what was still in hard drive which was great.
Data from yesterday, December was all still there.

However - It read wrong info for "all time data" and few others.

I circled the incorrect data.

Highest wind speed was Dec. 28th at 42.8mph.
Highest daily rain - not sure when but it wasnt 9"
High hourly rain was in the 2"s range
Highest monthly rainfall was August not this month

What should I do to correct? (should I delete the data file and replace with the backed up one?)
Why did this happen? (so I can better understand for future)

Thank you.

I don't really understand what you've done, or why you needed to do it. If you took a copy of the Cumulus data folder, then you should have replaced that before you ran Cumulus (did you reinstall Cumulus?). It would then have carried on as if nothing had happened. Presumably you can do that now?

Thanks for the reply Steve. I basically did a system restore of my computer which takes it back to a certain date and deletes software that was installed after that point. But Cumulus data was still there. So Im not sure why it read incorrect data.

I will try to delete the data folder and replace it with the backed up one. Lets see what happens.

I wouldn't have thought a system restore would have any effect on Cumulus, I thought it just changed system files, the registry etc? So Cumulus should be exactly the same after a system restore as before, with the same data files. The all-time records are in alltime.ini in the data folder, so you can look at your saved copy with a text editor so see what state it was in before the system restore.

Deleting the data folder and replacing it with the backed up one did not work. I assume it has memory and still reads the old data.

So I restored the deleted data folder from the recycle bin and kept both Data files in the Cumulus folder. (backed up file, and the one that stayed after the restore) Everything reads correctly now.

Love Ya Steve... but I have no idea what I did and Im gonna have to figure out which folder to delete now. lol Strange. At least I got the correct info now. lol
