Rain Data Editing

Post by R-II »

Hi

I've been going through my data trying to sort out the odd rain figures, caused I think by my rain gauge vibrating in high winds.
I have some data for rainfall on 25/9/2011 that I know should not be there.

What I need to know is if I edit out the rain rates and rain amounts etc do I have to edit every entry on the rainfall counter column (ie from 25/9/11 to 31/12/11)

... and whilst I think about it any tips on where to site the rain gauge so it isn't affected by wind vibration (i'm guessing not on the same pole as the other instruments)

You don't need to edit the rainfall counter figures. Effectively, they are correct, because they represent the actual value of the counter in your station.
