Hello all!
I want to type n/a (not available) abbreviation in dayfile.txt, because my website uses some data from dayfile.txt to display. I got some problems with my ombrometer, soo my wind speed readings from 20.12-31.12.2011 were wrong. Now i deleted values with cumulus dayfile editor. I think it could be more understandable if i type n/a abbreviation in gust, wind speed, wind run and windchill boxes.
I dont see any problems until there, but there could be some interferences in the future? Has anyone any experiences about adding non numerical characters in dayfile.txt?
thx
Marko

Re: n/a abbreviation in dayfile.txt
I advise against doing it to the 'real' dayfile.txt (rather than a copy). If you put non-numerical values where Cumulus expects to find numerical values in any of the log files, then at best some facilities in Cumulus are likely to stop working (annual summaries etc) and at worst Cumulus may crash if there are places where I haven't 'trapped' the errors.

Re: n/a abbreviation in dayfile.txt
Then edit the code that uses the dayfile.txt !... uses some data from dayfile.txt
......................Imagine, what you will KNOW tomorrow !
