Resetting max/min data on WH1080 base station

Post by cwiltshire »

I have been testing a new WH1080 setup for the last few days and have random historic information on the max/min records shown in Eeasy Weather taken from the base station. These thankfully are independent of the proper figures polled by Cumulus. The manual such as it is indicates that the historic information can only be deleted by words to the effect of "key operation on the base station" without any explanation of how this is achieved. A search of the internet seems only to refer back to the manual.

Can anyone assist with a solution to this rather basic omission please.

Cumulus itself is excellent!

Thanks

I think the best way of resetting the data on the station is probably to do a complete reset, i.e. remove the batteries and disconnect the USB cable.

Hi,

I don't have the manual to hand, but I think basically you tap the respective area of the LCD 3 or 4 times and it should display "CLEAR" at the bottom. You then need to tap-and-hold for several seconds (can't remember if it's the original entry or the CLEAR) and it should go to zero*.

*EDIT: Actually a max or min should reset to the current value (of temp, humidity, pressure, etc.). I think you could also perform these resets by closing Cumulus and running the Easyweather software briefly.

Cheers, Alan.

Thanks Alan. What you say is true re the clear button. But that only seems to clear out the datalogger periodic data. That I don't have a problem with. The difficulty is the all time historical information that is not cleared by this routine.

Hi Chris,

If you want to reset the max/min temperature or humidity, etc. (i.e. highest and lowest values since the last reset) displayed on the console, then they have to be reset individually as described on page 7 of the (or at least my) manual. However, you may need to tap the screen an extra time to start the digits flashing and the Outside temperature seems to have a bug which requires one extra key press!

For example, to reset the maximum temperature: Tap the temperature digits FOUR or five times (until the "LO AL" icon disappears) and then PRESS (i.e. tap-and-hold) the flashing digits for at least three seconds. The digits should change to the current temperature (i.e. the max since being reset). To reset the minimum, tap once more (or FIVE/six times from the static digits mode) and then PRESS again.

Cheers, Alan.

Hello Alan

Aha! Excellent.

As I have only had the station about a week, I had not as yet worried about setting any alarms and therefore had not progressed through the whole sequences as outlined in the manual and consequently had not reached this vital point. Subtle. I had been looking for a single operation that cleared everything rather than each element in turn.

Now all is revealed.

Thanks for your patience.
