Cumulus bug - I get the same error on Win NT and VISTA

I was getting this bug regularly on the old computer I first set up to post my weather station to wunderground. It would work for a day or so, then this error would pop up. Thought it was a memory problem with the old PC. Newer PC with 6Gig memory is now in place - I got the weatherstation software running, and downloaded latest stable version of Cumulus. After running OK for a few hours, I get this error. Downloading the bugreport.txt file for you to (hopefully) assist.

It's crashing in the 'runtime' code rather than in any of my code, so it's hard to say what the cause is. It looks like it might be crashing in the component which remembers the window position, possibly when it tries to read the position from cumulus.ini. Which folder have you installed Cumulus to? If you have 'remember last screen position' selected, you could try turning it off.

It looks like what Cumulus was doing just before this was checking the initialisation bytes in the station, and finding that they didn't have the expected values, and was about to log an error message about this, and then give up (so the crash isn't stopping anything happening anyway, and this is presumably the reason it happens on two systems; the problem is actually with the station). What you could do to avoid the crash in the runtime would be to tell Cumulus not to do this check by editing cumulus.ini and adding a line to the [Station] section:
EWdisablecheckinit=1
But this may just result in you getting garbage data, since the first few bytes of your station memory do not contain the values that Cumulus expects, so the rest of the memory may also be corrupt.
