Just you, as far as I'm aware. If it was a common issue, the forum would be full of posts about it.
What settings are you using now? Did you not have ftp logging turned on anyway (now that we've established that it
is most likely an ftp issue)? I don't think you've uploaded an ftp log yet, so it's very hard to speculate on what the problem might be.

Looks OK so far, and your settings are now reasonable.

All day, every 15 minutes I've checked and all day not change it's been correct......
BUT
1915 this evening it's shown up at last.
I thought it was me... phew...
Hope some sense can be made of the error, the configuration has been the same all day.
2000 ish tonite it happened again..... no log as I had done a restart of Cumulus and did'nt realise the ftp log
was not still on...

There are no errors in the ftp log for the 1915 upload, and no sign of anything out of the ordinary. So I'm afraid I have no idea what the problem is.

Steve ,
Is there a way of switching ftp log on when the program starts, other than manual that is....
1100 this am I had a fail, ftplog was not on at the timebecause I had had to do a reboot earlier.
when I say fail, the records on computer were OK, the transmitted ones were incomplete.
1105, I forced a webupdate and it was fine.

No.

It doesn't look like the ftp log is any use in diagnosing the problem, if the earlier one is anything to go by. Everything in the ftp log is as it should be. It looks like some kind of issue with the ftp server to me. You could try active ftp mode, but I think you had that set earlier anyway.

OK Steve,
Thanks for your help on this. looks like I'm stuck with it.
I suppose it only 15 minutes before it resends its updates so I'll monitor it and seehow it goes.
I have a new question.
New thread.

I thought there was a similar problem some time ago - but I can't find it or remember its resolution
I have a feeling it was something to do with the connection not staying 'alive' ?

Have you power cycled your router lately ?
I had a very simmilar problem where the upload was failing before completion and eventually it would not upload at all even though the internet connection was fine; power cycleing fixed it, a soft reboot did not!
Also some routers running 24/7 do not refresh the IP address like they should, but then the whole connection fails until its rebooted, but I dont think this is your problem; This is the batch file I have to use for a regular soft reboot.

Thanks,
Yes station is powered down, that includes router and computer.
Normal uptime is 0700-2330
I've flipped the settings in Cumulus as well to see if much difference.
One thing I have noticed, I don't seem to get the crash if ftplogging is on.
Whenever I've had a crash I've not been able to get a record of it.
Ah well not to matter as I said, even if it corrupts one, 15 minutes later another will be along.
Cheers

But... but... you said you had the truncated files (I assume that's what you mean by "crash") in the 1915 upload last night, and you had ftp logging on then?

Steve,
No This is an active computer doing many other tasks when I'm here.
If I install some Beta software or do some graphics work, then I have to reboot.
This means that Cumulus will have to be restarted. I may well being busy doing
other stuff forget to switch on the ftp logging.
(Maybe this is the chance for a mod to allow it to activate on start.
A short message saying ftp logging is switched on? just a thought)
Anyway, I'm happy that it's not dropping as much as I originally thought.
I'll keep an eye on the problem if it occurs again. It appears to be my problem
not anyone else's

I have been trying to get to the bottom of a different issue and came across wireshark
http://www.wireshark.org/ which logs network traffic. It's free and it may help....

Neil,
Thanks for that, it looks very very useful..
I'll get it downloaded and give it a good looking at. I have a few other things I do which it will certainly help.
Cheers
