Error report attached

Post by MarFam »

First of all, great piece of software, thanks. Our weather station sat in its box for 8 years before we got around to setting it up, so to find software that not only talks to it but also talks to the web is brilliant.

We keep getting an error where we get the Windows sound of death, followed by a popup telling is Cumulus has crashed (with restart or close options). Cumulus seems unaware of the crash, because it keeps running quite happily in the background (I just minimise the error message to get it out of the way). I've attached the error report to this post, as requested.

The website happily updates with current data while this message is present (we're using CoreFTP LE for FTP).

Thanks!

I don't know what the Windows 'sound of death' is, but the crash is in the serial port component which Cumulus uses. Windows has told it that data is available to be read, but when it tries to read the data, there's nothing there. I don't know if I can prevent the crash when this happens; if I get time I'll have a look at it.

By the way, why are using a separate program to do the ftp? Does the Cumulus ftp not work for you?

Sorry - being dim there. Yes, the Cumulus ftp is working fine. Is there a way to extend the timeout?

Thanks

No, sorry. It's already quite high - 30 seconds; I think if the server hasn't replied in that time, it isn't going to, unless you know something I don't?
