Cumulus Support

Hi all.

I installed Cumulus for the first time today. It will not start up.

I get an error message every time I try to start up Cumulus. Please see the bug report below.

Can some one please help me as the program looks very good.

It's crashing in the Delphi runtime code while trying to decode the date and time you last ran Cumulus, taken from the today.ini file. As you haven't yet successfully run Cumulus, it ought to be using a default timestamp of 'now'. I don't know why it should crash doing that. Have a look in the data folder to see if somehow you do have a today.ini file, and if you do, attach it here. Could you also please zip up the diags folder and attach that.

It's a problem with your Windows date and time settings:

Cumulus is unable to format any dates and times on your system - that number at the left hand side should be a date and time, and your 'date separator' and 'time separator' aren't set to anything. You need to go into the Windows control panel and set your date and time formats correctly.

I sorted the long date out and Cumulus started and I set it com port 7 and it started to download my data from the weather station and then another error came up. Please find details below.

You have not set a short date separator yet, your date is still coming out as 281111

And once you've got your date and time settings sorted out, you'll need to delete the files from the data folder before you run Cumulus again, as you'll now have some very odd things in there.

I didn't see anything wrong in windows to do with the date so I did a reset and that fixed it. Strange thing is that all looked exactly the same after the reset. But its all up and running now.

Do I delete all the files in the data folder?

Under the status on the main screen there is a green light for new record and the red one for error.
Is the error light suppose to light up after the green every time as if there is a error or have I got something set up wrong?

I'm using the La Crosse WS-2350. I've ticked the box for the WS-2300 is this OK for my weather station and do you have any suggestions for what settings I should use to get me up and running correctly untill I get used to the program?

The error light is probably flashing because of the problems in the data files due to bad date formats. (Tip: when the error light is flashing, click on it). I suggest you stop Cumulus and delete all of the files in the data folder, then start it again. The default settings should be all you need for now.
