Hi Steve:
The aneometer on my FineOffset station is temporarily frozen, so no wind speed is recorded. The wind vane is working properly and the $bearing web tag is updated accordingly. The $wdir tag however stays at "---". I know that some people might argue that a wind direction without wind (speed) doesn't make sense, but in this case the wind speed is not "'zero" but "missing", a slight difference. Maybe you could fix this in an upcoming release.

Re: $wdir web tag
The <#wdir> tag gives the average direction, which takes into account the wind speed. If there is no wind speed recorded, there can be no average wind direction, hence '---'. I'm not sure what it could display other than 'dashes'?
If you want the compass position that corresponds to <#bearing>, then you need to be using <#currentwdir>, not <#wdir>.
