I recently purchased the WH1080 and have cumulus set up to log and upload to a website.
At 10:20 the updates stopped and I came home to find the error light flickering.
The WH1080 receiver shows that its no longer collecting outside temp, wind or pressure although it appears to be picking up pressure as its still displaying this (and its changing).
I've tried removing batteries from both receiver and transmitter and moving the receiver to direct line of sight of the transmitter.
I tried changing the batteries in the transmitter and the red light came on and then went off. I waited a while for the receiver to sync without luck so I tried 2 other sets of brand new batteries (and the old set) in the transmitter and now there is no red light coming on in the transmitter. (for some reason the pressure still displays ??).
I have a feeling that the transmitter has died , anyone have any other suggestions ?
Thanks, in advance.

Re: WH1080
The explanation for the pressure still being displayed is that the sensor is in the console. It does sound to me as though your transmitter has died, but there are others here who are more experienced in the ways of the Fine Offset than I, and someone may be able to offer some incantations for you to try.

Re: WH1080
Thanks - I was wondering where the pressure sensor was and that explains it.The explanation for the pressure still being displayed is that the sensor is in the console.

Re: WH1080
Hi
Try removing all batteries and the usb connection then replace the transmitter batteries then the display batteries.

Alan

If the transmitter LED is not coming on even after re-installing/replacing the batteries several times, then the "outside unit" probably is faulty. Is there any chance you inserted the batteries with the wrong polarity (sadly I don't think FO protect against this - I've added red spots inside the battery compartments at the +ve ends)?
However, I believe that the 1080 may apparently "go to sleep" for several minutes after inserting the batteries whilst it looks for the radio clock time signal. And as Alan says, to synchronise properly you must disconnect the USB cable and remove and re-insert the batteries in both units.
Cheers, Alan.

Re: WH1080
Thanks
After trying it several more times I came to the conclusion it was faulty. I've managed to get the shop to swap the transmitter without having to take the whole station back although I've also got them to agree to swap the whole station if this doesn't work.
I have however had it running for about 8hrs now with no interruptions so I think its sorted.
