Create missing

I have some UV/Lux readings missing from my W-8681 unit's data. I used 'create missing' but the dayfileditlog.txt is empty although the time/date stamp is correct. Any ideas please? Thanks
John

I think you misunderstand what that facility does. It's part of the dayfile.txt editor and hence creates missing entries in dayfile.txt (from the data in the monthly logs).

Thanks Steve but it was this message in your Help file which has me puzzled as it is empty.

It creates a file in the Cumulus folder called dayfileeditlog.txt which contains the entries it created - it creates this file even if you click 'cancel', so you can see what it would have added if you had clicked OK.

Presumably there are no missing days in your dayfile.txt, then? So there was nothing for 'create missing' to do.

Hi Steve
I have misunderstood what the facility is supposed to do. I gather from what you say that missing DAYS are created.
I had a period of 2 days when no Lux/UV data was received so I assumed that that data would be 'filled in'
Thanks
John

Yes; complete entries are created from data in the monthly logs.

There is no solar data in dayfile.txt, so there's nothing that the dayfile.txt editor could do in that respect anyway.

If you have missing solar data (in the monthly logs?) then presumably the station didn't transmit or log the data at the time, so there is no way that Cumulus could retrospectively fill in the missing data - where would it get it from?

I assumed it would make a calculated guess as it seems to do for missing days.
Just me being too new to this.
One thing I have found is that when the batteries get low in my W8681 Solar the first data that suffers is the Lux/UV data resulting in dashes on the screen. Inserting fully charged batteries brings up all data again.
Thanks Steve
