Weatherwise Instruments

As some of you may know, I began having a problem with my Weatherwise Instruments (WS-1080) weather station. It would not download data to my PC, and it was thought that there was a problem with the USB port on the display unit.

In an effort to get some customer support, I tried to contact Weatherwise Instruments in Bentonville, Arkansas (USA). I sent email after email, with no reply. I tried calling the toll free number for customer support, and got a recorded message saying that they were out of the office, and it referred me to the CS email address. I called back to the same toll free number later, and got an apartment complex office.

I then Googled the company to see if I could find any other contact information. I ran across a BBB Business Review ( http://www.bbb.org/arkansas/business-re ... --90238636 ), and it states that this company is no longer in business.

This is just an FYI post for anyone who owns a Weatherwise Instruments weather station.

I have an update to this post. I have been in contact with the people that I actually bought the station from. They advise me that Weatherwise Instruments has moved from Bentonville, Ak to Florida. They advise me that the toll free number I posted is, in fact, correct. And that the owners have been out of the office for a week or so due to a family emergency. So I will hold off on posting the previous info on other sites until I am sure one way or the other.

Sorry to have caused any unnecessary concern.

I bought a WS-1080 from them mid October and everything worked fine until today when the control panel inside lost connection with the computer.

Waiting for a message to explain what to try next.

I never got an answer from them. However, I got the problem taken care of. I simply took the batteries out of the display unit, and let it sit idle for several minutes. Then reinstalled the batteries, and everything worked. It was apparently like a reboot of sorts.

Hopefully, your problem will be as simple. Good luck.

Thanks - I guess you never figured out which USB device the unit is using?
