I recently installed 1.9.2 (1019) and every morning I see the following errors:
31/10/2011 1:58:00 AM : Data input appears to have stopped - check your station and connections
31/10/2011 2:58:00 AM : Data input appears to have stopped - check your station and connections
31/10/2011 3:58:00 AM : Data input appears to have stopped - check your station and connections
31/10/2011 4:58:00 AM : Data input appears to have stopped - check your station and connections
31/10/2011 5:58:00 AM : Data input appears to have stopped - check your station and connections

I've gone back a few Diags files and its the exact same times every day. Cumulus doesn't seem to be otherwise affected, I've got logging to file every 5 minutes and none of those appear to be missing. See extract from diag file:
31/10/2011 01:55:00.558 : Writing today.ini, LastUpdateTime = 31/10/2011 1:55:00 AM raindaystart = 1786.57995605469 rain counter = 1786.57995605469
31/10/2011 01:58:00.036 : *** Data input appears to have stopped
31/10/2011 02:00:00.734 : Writing today.ini, LastUpdateTime = 31/10/2011 2:00:00 AM raindaystart = 1786.57995605469 rain counter = 1786.57995605469

What triggers this error that I should be looking for?

It checks once a minute whether any data has been read in the previous minute. It can take a very long time to get any data out of a La Crosse station, so it's probably best to disable this setting for those stations. Edit Cumulus.ini and add a line to the [Station] section:

ReportDataStoppedErrors=0

Thanks Steve... I've added that to my .ini file.
Its weird how it happens 5 times at exactly the same times (to the minute) every day.

The station is particularly unresponsive when it's checking the time signal.
