I don't understand what this means?

Did you use 'create missing'? It (the grid component that the editor uses) does a 'sort' on the date column after it's inserted the new entries, but in your case it seems to have partially sorted on the second column instead. I've just used your 'before' file with two lines removed, and it successfully added the missing lines and sorted the file correctly. So I have no idea why it didn't work for you, if that's what you were actually doing.

I followed your steps and it works fine, so I'm afraid I have no idea what the problem is, sorry. If you open the dayfileeditlog.txt file, it should contain the two entries that it added, and you can edit them into dayfile.txt manually.
