Regenerate dayfile from log data?

Post by pswired »

If I completely delete my dayfile.txt, will it be fully regenerated from log data at the end of the day automatically?

More details: I just replaced my Fine Offset weather station with a Davis model. There's a bunch of bad data in my old records (spurious temperatures, rain rates, wind speeds, etc.). I've manually cleaned up my log files to remove all the bad data points. The dayfile still contains bad data though. What's the easiest way to regenerate it?

You can use the dayfile.txt editor to recreate it or add missing entries. Note that it can't do a 'perfect' job as not all of the required data is available.

Perfect! Thanks. All my records are now in order and I should have good data going forward with the new station.
