Upoading to Verizon personal web space

Post by paleoguy »

This is probably a typical newbie question but I can't find an answer to it anywhere. I've just set up my Ambient 2080 and it's running beautifully with Cumulus. Unfortunately, Verizon (as of August 2011) will no longer allow ftp uploads to personal web sites, citing security reasons.

Is there a way to upload my data onto my Verizon personal page? Right now, I'm restricted to just providing a link to either my WeatherUnderground or CWOP info.

Many thanks

You can only use ftp with Cumulus. Hosting which only allows the 'site builder' type of access isn't really suitable for automatic, frequent updates as required by a weather station web site. How do Verizon now allow you to update your web site?

I was afraid of that being the case...I've struggled with the 'web site builder' since yesterday. Verizon does allow 'add on' items to its pages; an example being an add-on for the Weather Channel. But the html for that add-on is way over my head. I guess that I'll stick with just providing a link.
Thanks
