Cumulus not reading. I haven't had any readings in over 24 hours now. I restart Cumulus and I receive a window stating, "downloading data" and nothing happens. I even uninstalled and reinstalled. Please assist. This never happened before and the inside unit is reading the weather station with accurate readings and is connected to the pc. Did anyone else have this problem?
Thank you,
Bobbie

Re: Downloading error at startup with Cumulus
There are two small files. I am wondering because of the windows update to win 7 sp1? I am ready to revert back to win 7 and see what happens. Here are the two small files. I know you wanted them zipped, but they aren't big. Thank you Steve for your dedicated time.

That's not the point. If they are zipped, I can download and view them with a couple of clicks. It takes me much more time to look at them when they're uploaded individually, even if there are only two of them.Bobbien333 wrote:Here are the two small files. Firstly, it looks like you have done a completely new install? You've just set the station type, but there aren't any data files yet. Windows has detected your weather station, but it's apparently not responding to requests from Cumulus for data. So you have some sort of USB issue, or possibly a problem with the station itself.
You're not using the latest (and supported) version of Cumulus, by the way. And you've selected a station type with solar sensors. Does the WS2080 have solar sensors?

Re: Downloading error at startup with Cumulus
I know the second one is a second install. I tried doing that to override what was there when I started receiving the error message, hoping to resolve this without bothering you.
Here is the zip files.
Thank you Steve. I was also in the process of reverting out of win 7 sp1 back to win 7 only. I was trying to get back to where everything was before the automatic update when things were fine. I took it off auto update.

Re: Downloading error at startup with Cumulus
Before I can get in and do anything, it will not let me. That downloading data comes up fast and will not let me get into anything. I even have to do a control alt and delete to get stop the program. It locks my computer up. This is what happened yesterday. I waited all day while I was out and came back and the same screen was there, "downloading data" and it was and still is stuck. This is why I reinstalled. I will await your decisions and advice before doing anything else. If you want me to uninstall the whole program and make sure cumulus is not showing in the "C" drive or what.
Sincerely

I don't understand what it is you want me to do. The problem is that the station is not responding. It's either a USB problem or a problem with the station itself.Bobbien333 wrote:I will await your decisions and advice before doing anything else.

Re: Downloading error at startup with Cumulus
The information on the ambient weather radio controlled unit in the house is reading what is on the weather station. I can unistall everything that has to do with the Cumulus software, including restarting after it is deleted and there isn't a file for Cumulus in the "C" drive. Install the latest version, which I had and was working fine, but now it has done nothing but give me this "Please Wait, Downloading Data" and just stays for a long time. It never ends and I have to end task to get rid of it and I do give it time. I don't see any readings on the cumulus that is on the inside unit. It is all "Zero's". My unit matches the news stations with the barameter and all, it just doesn't go to cumulus and the software hangs with that "downloading data." I cannot get into anything.
I don't see how this just happens Steve. I never did before. I do have the latest version now.
I was trying the older version before. I uninstalled everything and reinstalled the newest version and still does the same thing. If it was the unit and station, I wouldn't have accurate readings on the radio controlled unit in the house. I do have it on USB and other postings show that and I followed the same thing and everything you told me before.
I even went back to Windows 7 and got rid of the SP1.
I've attached the new and it still does the same thing. If you can't figure it out, I guess I can't use Cumulus. Do you suggest anything else if we can't get it worked out?
This is a new system, new batteries, was working fine, then now nothing. I don't want to waste your time.
Thank you.

STEVE, ALL OF A SUDDEN IT STARTED WORKING AGAIN! I don't understand it. Please ignore the last post. It all finally went through the downloading data. I never seen it like that, hopefully it won't do it again.
Thank you for your time.
