Hi folks,
I'm quite seriously considering this station and wondering if anyone is actually using one with Cumulus yet? I realise there are issues like no logger, but setting that aside, is it actually any good at doing what it does do? Is the UV sensor actually catered for yet? Or is that a work in progress for a while longer?
Some sites have indicated they are testing and will do reviews probably during September, but I have found none have been forthcoming yet and as it's now October I felt it was time to ask for any info that anyone might be able to tell of.
It's already a bit more expensive than I am strictly happy about, but I might bite the bullet anyway as it does appear to be a fairly good proposition on paper. I know that due to the lack of an on board logger I'd have to use it "part time" until I could make a computer available 24/7 that is dedicated to grabbing data from it, but that is a fairly acceptable compromise in the short term.
Any info on what the thing is really like in use?

Re: Anyone using WMR88?
Hello Ian,
As a user of the Weather Station alongside the La-Crosse WS2300, I have come to the following decision.
The WMR88 is in it own right, a very reasonably priced Personal Weather Station that fills a gap in the market as it stands at the moment.
It is supplied with a good range of Instruments and Build Quality which is on a par with La-Crosse Technology.
It also offers the potential to expand the range of Weather Conditions recorded, through the use of Additional Sensors for UV, Pond/Pool Water Temperature as well as Temperature/Humidity.
The Wireless Sensors used have been very reliable and I have experienced no issues so far.
The Station was easy to assemble and put up.
This Weather Station is ideal for the Weather Hobbyist who is looking for a affordable, reliable means of keeping an eye on the Weather Outside.
I feel the use of the Station with Cumulus is necessary to use this station to its full potential.
The operator of the Station would need to run Cumulus or any other Weather Station Software 24/7 to maintain any useful Records and for use with a Personal Website as the Station has no Data Logger and a Limited Broadcast Interval.
The WMR88 performed really well alongside the La-Crosse with very comparable levels of Accuracy and Integrity.
As with many of the Oregon Scientific Range, Readings such as Pressure are in 1Mb/hPa or Inch Mercury Intervals and Rain 1mm Intervals.
I personally would recommend this Station to anyone looking to keep an eye on the Weather without a PC as a affordable option or as a affordable Personal Weather Station to be used with Personal Weather Station software that are willing to run the PC 24/7.
I hope this has been helpful and answers any questions you or others may have.

Re: Anyone using WMR88?
Thanks very much for the speedy info Jason!
How is it with battery use? Has it exhausted any battery sets in any of the units since you set it up earlier in the year?
I know the cells in the main panel are intended to be for back up only and that the unit is meant to routinely run on the mains supply that comes with it, but how about the other parts? There's quite a few of them and quite a few cells involved overall.
