This I believe is an obvious answer to my question, but I will ask anyway.
Does my computer have to be permanently switched on with Cumulus running, to put it on my own website.?
Or is there any gadgets out there which bypass the computer.

Computer has to be on, with weather console pluged in. No gadgets.
If not hosting on your own computer, and with a host provider, your website will still work with the computer off, however, it won't be kept up to date until Cumulus is turned on and sends the information.
