I hace a WH1081 model weather station using the cumulus software
The memory on the station has a finite capacity. Does cumulus continue to hold historical data as I assume I will have to clear the data held on the weather station. Where does cumulis hold the data and how can I access it
Thanks

Hi,
You don't need to clear the station log, the memory "wraps around". Just ensure that you download the data (i.e. run Cumulus) before it starts to overwrite the old data, which is something over two weeks if using 5 minute logging (or 3 months with the default 30 mins).
The data files should be stored in the path c:Cumulus/data with an explanation of their contents in the FAQ or Wiki .
Cheers, Alan.

Thanks Alan
So if I cleared the data on the station log when cumulus is running then I will not lose data?
I may want to do that if I go away and shut my pc down ?

If you clear the logger while Cumulus is running, you may well get odd effects - the 'live' data also comes from the logger memory. If you really have to clear the memory for some reason (I can't think of one) the best time to do it is immediately after closing Cumulus.

Well maybe I am making the wrong assumptions but here goes:
When the logger memory becomes full - if cumulus is running on my PC then I guess the date feeds directly into the software.
However if the memory is full on the logger and cumulus is not running on the PC or the PC is shut down then does the data still collect or because the memory is full it will not collect. So when I turn cumulus on again is there a gap in the data?

Hi Eddie,
No the logger memory NEVER "fills", it just over-writes the oldest data entries (i.e it "wraps around"). Cumulus is clever enough to read backwards through all the logger entries until it finds the last time that data was downloaded.
So you should only ever "lose" any data if you don't connect the logger and run Cumulus for a period longer than the TOTAL logger memory (i.e. more than 2 weeks - 3 months, depending on the logging interval).
Cheers, Alan.
